let’s open the canoeing season 2021!
The water is still going to be quite cold, however there should be enough of it for a great ride!
We will go on Berounka, and canoe some 14 km with 2 weirs on its lower part, not far from Prague. This section of the river is suitable for first-time canoers.
What to bring with you
Shoes to wear in water (sandals, or you can buy special shoes for walking in water), wear clothes which dry fast (NOT jeans), sunscreen, spare T-shirt, trousers and underwear (in case your canoe capsizes), towel, swimwear if you are brave, bottle of water and a small snack. Put all your staff to a small compact bag – we will put all our belongings into water-proof barrels and they are not very large.
Since dropping my phone in the river and losing my glasses during capsizing, I’ve been recommending everyone to keep their phone in a waterproof case and having glasses on a string while on the boat.
