Hello Discoverers!
During this day trip you will see the main landmarks of the Moravský kras Protected Landscape Area (Moravian Karst) – The Punkva Caves and the Macocha Abyss.
It is relatively far from Prague, some 240 km /150 miles to drive or 3 hours by train, but it is definitely worth the journey!
LOGISTICS & PLAN OF THE DAY
We will meet at 7:30 AM at Prague Main Train Station, in front of the main ticket office.
The journey to Moravský kras will take about 3 hours. We will first hike for about an hour to reach the Macocha Abyss. After checking out this wonder of nature, and getting some refreshment, we will walk for another 30 min to the main highlight of the day – the tour of the Punkva Caves!
The tour of the caves, including reaching the bottom of Macocha and a boat ride on the underground part of the Punkva river, takes about 60 minutes. The tour will be conducted in English.
Expected arrival back to Prague is around 8:15 pm but a delay is possible. Don’t plan anything important after the trip!
DIFFICULTY: Easy
Altogether you will have to walk for cca 6 km on the surface and another about 1,5 km in the cave. This will include one steep ascent and descent. Good walking shoes are necessary!
FOOD
Bring water and a snack. There will be opportunity for a restaurant lunch.

Firm, non-slippery shoes; Warm clothes – it is about 7°C /44°F in the cave!; umbrella or rain coat if rain is expected

The price includes all transportation (train and cab), English-narrated guided tour of the Punkva Caves, trip research and tickets booking, myself as your host and guide.
What is not included: 40 CZK fee for taking photos in the caves (payable in cash at the ticket office).
Children under 16 pay 790 CZK (create a separate order for them an enter ‘child16’ coupon code at the checkout). Due to the length of this trip, it is best suitable for children from 12 years.
Food&drink is not included.
