I’d like to cordially invite you to my traditional Christmas hike :)

This year we will hike from the western edge of the city to the Prague Castle. It will be an interesting, about 9 km long route taking us through the Hvězda Royal Game Reserve and the Ladronka Park.

We should reach the Castle by 14:00. There is a Christmas market in front of the St. George’s Basilica and a nativity scene on display in the St. Vitus Cathedral.

I will try to book a restaurant for the usual after-walk lunch and socializing!

DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium

Around 9 km/6 miles, on paved and unpaved streets and foot trails. It will be mostly flat or downhill, with one hill to walk up near the beginning (Around 60 meters of vertical gain).

Beware that if it’s under the freezing point on the day, the trail will be slippery at places, if it’s above, we will enjoy some festive mud :)

MEETING TIME & LOCATION

We will meet at 10:15 at the Masaryk Railway Station (Masarykovo nádraží), in the station hall, by the departures board. If you can not find us call me at +420 739 370 212.

Don’t be late, our train leaves at 10:32!

The train ride to the starting point of the hike takes only about 20 minutes. You can also get on the train at Praha – Dejvice (near Hradčanská metro) at 10:40.

BRING WITH YOU

• Prague “Lítačka” card or a validated 1×30 CZK ticket for the train ride. Please note: SMS tickets are not valid on trains and dogs need a separate ticket for 20 CZK!
• Comfortable walking shoes with good grip.
• An umbrella or rain coat if rain is expected.
• Water & snack
• Christmas festive mood :)
