Let’s watch the 2018 New Year’s fireworks in Prague!

Let’s meet on New Year’s Day to watch the fireworks together! It will be even more special in 2018 as it will mark 25 years of the existence of the Czech Republic and the new year will see 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia!
We will meet at 5:15 pm in front of the Prague City Museum at Florenc.
This event will consist of three parts:
1. A hike up to the Vitkov hill (cca 25 min)
2. Watching the fireworks!
3. Dinner in a nice restaurant in Zizkov
If you’re planning to join us for the dinner, please register by clicking on “add to cart” and placing an order. No organization fee is charged but there is a limited number of places in the restaurant.

Hello friends!
It’s now becoming a tradition that we meet on New Year’s Day to watch the fireworks. It will be even more special in 2018 as it will mark 25 years of the existence of the Czech Republic and the new year will see 100th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia!
We will meet at 5:15 pm in front of the Prague City Museum at Florenc (see 2nd picture in the event’s gallery).
The first part of this event will be a hike as we will need to walk 1.2 km and 70 meters of vertical gain to the top of the Vitkov hill. I’ve selected this place because it will give us a superb view and I believe it will be less crowded than some of the more central locations.
The fireworks itself starts at 6:00 pm and will last for 11 minutes. The fireworks will finish with the Czech national anthem.
The third part of this meetup will double for our monthly dining meetup, just instead of Wednesday we’ll meet on Monday! I’ve booked a nice restaurant in Zizkov for us.
Make sure to dress warm as you’ll spend about 90 minutes outdoors, some of it standing still and watching the fireworks.
